Australia Tour

It has beed a long time since I last update this blog. We just come back from Australia last week. Here are some photos of our trip. More will be uploaded in hopefully 1 or 2 weeks time...

Drinking milk on the beach, wow, really an enjoyment! Feeding milk on the beach...... haha! I'm enjoying myself very much too!

Look at him, he didn't finish his milk, can't wait to join in the fun at the beach.

All in a day's work. Part and parcel of parenting... I have seen and experience 'shit' of 2 nieces and 4 nephews before Seth was borned. However, whenever my mum or my sis's maid changed the children's soiled diaper, I would normally stand at least 3 meters away. Before Seth was born, my mother and my brother sometimes ask me who is going to change his diapers next time. I would normally just replied "Jaz loh"... But to my surprise, one fine sunny morning. Seth soiled his diaper, Jaz was in the other room, and I'm all alone with him. I just open his diaper and begin to change him. Haha, don't know where I got the strength, the fear of "shit" just disappear into thin air... Now, sometimes Jaz could not even bear the smell of Seth's waste and I have to do it!

Seth, Our Beautiful Child

I had brought Seth to Kallang River ( just next to our house) for a stroll for the past 2 days after dinner. KP is not with us due to work schedule, what a waste! But I really enjoyed the time we spent together, the quietness, sunset, beautiful scenery....

Seth picked up things really fast, the first day, there were lots of birds flying around, I pointed the sky and told him"Look Seth, birds are flying up in the sky" he looked up with a beautiful smile and kept watching. Today we were there again and I asked him "Seth where are the birds?" He looked up the sky with his hands pointing towards the sky. I was really amazed!

Seth loves pets especially cats and dogs. Whenever he saw them he got really excited. We were in the river, a golden retriever passed by, he wanted so much to get up (cause im pushing him on his bicycle). The minute I carried him he was so excited, kicking his legs,swinging his hands, smiling. He wanted to touch the dog, not afraid of him. I'm the one who is afraid, afraid the dog might bite him, his saliva... I'm recalling, Am I being too protective? (KP will definitely say YES! Ha ha ha...) I hope he did not miss out his fun because of me.....

My Baby

The minute I walked away from Seth, this is how he will look. How adorable.... Hahaha !!!

Seth had been very "sticky" for the past weeks. Perhaps he had too much attention from me. Even at his grandma house, when I looked at him, is a must for me to carry him. We tried to distract him but failed.

We had left him at Nek Nek's house and went for dinner. He loved to play with all the family members (he had been playing everynight at Nek Nek's house) and i thought that it would be all right to leave him for a while. When we got back, his eyes were teary wanted so much of our hugs. Was told that he was looking for me, he does not want anyone even its Nek Nek and Tok, perhaps its bedtime!

Swimming Time!

Seth had been enjoying the "swimming session" every Sunday afternoon right outside our house. He was quite frighten due to the cold water, but when our neighbour Hanxuan joined in, he was flashing the water all over.








The swimming suit was bought by my sister Rachel, with the right fitting size. Dont he look smart? Ha ha ha ......

Seth's First Step On Sand

This is the 2nd time Seth had gone to East Coast Park.

He enjoyed the breeze and the sunset, very much wanted to have a "feel" of the sand and the water. Its really tiring holding him where he does not wish to stop.

Seth's First Hair Cut

We had wanted to cut Seth's hair for quite some time and had been mentioning in front of my parents in law, finally my father in law had brought him to the hairdresser without letting us know in advance. Luckily KP met him on the way to the hairdresser, cause we wanted to get some pictures of his first haircut.

LOOK !! He defintely does not enjoy his haircut. Poor boy..... with Grandfather smiling behind.

Seth's First Tooth

Seth got his first tooth about 3 weeks ago. I was so excited about it cause he look so cute with it!


Trying so hard to get a good picture with his tooth, it seems that the only way to see the tooth are photos that he is crying.... Like this one !!!!


We had been told by our denist to brush his tooth daily after every meal with a soft brush. We had started off only every morning and he enjoy it. Perhaps its because he hadwatched as KP and myself brush our tooth every morning and he is trying to eminate us.

Church Camp

We had been travelling since early May to end June. Malcca, Austin Hill, Batam (Harris) and Cruise to Rendang. Its really tiring especially bringing Seth along, the lugggage is filled with his stuffs (diapers, clothes, food, pillow, blanket, steriliser and of course all the equiments for me to pump milk).

The trip to Batam was restless for Seth. The ferry was fully booked and it was very crowded. It took about 1.5 hrs to reach Harris. He does not enjoy the journey.

My parents in law were with us this round, having break from taking care of 6 grandchildren and chances to catch up a 4 days 3 nights fellowship with all the brothers and sisters in church. They enjoyed the stay, relaxing, singing karaoke and even went for a swim!


These pizza is really yummmmy... Look at the "stone oven", we hardly have the chance to get it done in Singapore this way. The crust is really thin and cripsy and the combination of the ingredients is really perfect! It cost only S$12.
Look at Seth, he enjoy the process of pizza making. He sat still watching until the pizza is done.
Perhaps he love cooking, way back at home when KP is cooking, sometimes I would bring him to the kitchen and he keep staring as if he knew what daddy is doing! Ha ha ....

These are the kind custom officer that let us in. The one on KP's right is the head and he speaks good English.



I love these pictures. Especially the 2 men playing chess at the jetty next to a yatch. So relaxing! Where can we find such place in Singapore. Initially they were too shy to let me take the shots. I asked them just ignore me and play their game but they still feel very uncomfortable.

Cruise

This is the first time Seth had gone on board at cruise. He had been catching up sleep back at home. He had been napping for 2 to 3 hours, perhaps its due to the air con for 24 hrs. Poor mummy had been accompaning him throughout.

He was a popular baby on board, drawing a lot of attention from people walking passed him, the staffs, during meals.... and even grandpa introducing granddaughter !

Baby talk.....

Remember my previous postings... I mentioned that sometimes I do hear Seth's vocalise about 'Papa'... 'mama'... etc... I was telling my brother about Seth'talking' and sometimes imitating our last words. He just commented that its us who are dreaming of him talking. And he even added that I better don't tell others about it, very 'lao quee', shameful.

My neighbour, the Malay auntie whom Seth call Nek Nek. She told us that when Seth is at her house, she often heard him calling "Nek nek nek nek nek...". This is acutally nothing, but thinking that we have never heard him saying 'Nek nek' in our house before. And at home, we often heard him calling only papa and mama. Which means he can differenciate between 'US" and "Nek nek".

One more incident was when I sung Row row row the.... and he said Boat! Ha ha!

Yesterday it happen again, and Teng (my 3rd sis) also heard him. Nek nek display a decoration lights outside her house. Malay families normally displays lights decoration during their festive seasons like Hari Raya. Because Seth always likes it when they on the lights. Tok (grandfather) set up the lightings for him even though it is not Hari Raya. Yesterday, when we were outside Nek nek's house, and Seth looks up at the lightings and said guess what he says...... "Light" came our from his mouth. Haha! I'll try to take some photos of the lightings and post it here next time....

Seth says hello...

Yesterday, while we were sending Seth to my mum's place, something funny happened. In the lift, we met an Uncle. Seth kept staring at him, he is fat and sweaty, just finish his morning run I guess. Cannot blame Seth for staring, I also can't stop myself from looking at him. Quite an amusing state that Uncle is in. Imagine he is wearing a running shorts, and trust me, its the shortest shorts I've seen any uncle wore before. And his stripe polo T-shirt have a big round "ball" protruding in front. Lastly, he is all wet! And Jaz say's:" Seth, say hello to Uncle... quick say hello... " And Seth says:"Ah oh..." Wah, this is really amazing man! We all three, Uncle, Jaz and myself laugh until cry! How I wish I got it on video......

Some Updates...

Well, I guess it's quite boring to just have some writtings without the photos. I'm not a writer and do not know have to write interesting and narative stuffs.

This was taken only 1 week ago in church. Photographer is Wen'en. He went for a workshop on photography and has improved.

Grandfather and Seth.

Everyday grandfather will carry a quater of his weight walking around the house, and along the corridor when Seth is grouchy. For his age, 69, grandpa is consider quite strong and fit. Sometimes I still see him runing across the zebra crossing below his block.

My father is not really a big guy, he look like a typical Jockey. Yeah, one who rides a race horse. He weighs only 39kg. I remember once many years back, he mentioned that someone actually "head hunted" him to be a jockey. However, my grandmother do not like the idea. You know, people at that generation, when your mum says no, they actually mean it. And their children don't even ask "Why not"! Ha ha, comparing to our generation, its getting worst.

Children nowadays are getting more and more defiant. When I see my nieces and nephews, I really pray, and I prayed hard, that Seth will turn out to be a good boy.

When we had argument with our parents during adolescent stage, mum always say, when you become a parent, you will know how we feel. Now I really know what she meant!

This is the last one for now, my Ah Pui eating biscuit! Jaz's sister Rachel says he look like a piglet!

Ma ma ma ma ma....... At last!

I was thinking, how long will Seth take to make the first Ma Ma sound. And we were joking about it on how long I predicted, 8 months. It was 2 days ago that he says Ma Ma Ma...... Jaz was delighted!

One incident to share, after playing with Seth for a while, I need to place him on the bed on his own, so that I can go and get his milk. He do not like to be alone, while I was walking away, he shouted Pa pa pa pa... I have to ignore him to continue what I intended to do. Jaz happen to walk into the room, and he goes Ma ma ma ma...... guess how happy we were :) Everytime when I think of this incident, it still makes me feel with Joy!

Papapapa........

Haha! I was very delighted to hear these words for Seth. He begin to vocalise a lot recently. And many a times, you can hear :"Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa!" haha! Although I knew that he wasn't calling me, but I just feel Gooooooood!

And since then, sometimes I overheard Jaz calling:" Ma Ma Ma Ma Ma...." in front of Seth. Ha ha! Wanted him to "cal" her as well...... Wait long long... maybe 8 more months! :P

Seth's 1st Overseas Trip-Malacca

It was already 12am and we have not really packed our bags. Wah, we already have 3 bags fully filled up, and there's still lots of baby stuff need to bring.

Breast milk pump, sterilizer for milk bottles, extra milks for the journey (have to keep it cold in ice packed), extra diapers etc......

We are really blessed to have a few friends for the trip that will help us carry our bags across the custom.

We are lucky that we have always let Seth sit in the car sit. We brought along his car sit to be attached onto the mini-van we chartered. He was like sitting on his "home ground". For most of the journey, he just slept throughout.



I've been to Malacca a few times, but never been to this place called Jonker Walk. This have always been the place I want to visit everytime we travel to Malacca. But somehow due to a reason or another, didn't make it there.

This is the first few stalls we saw along one end of Jonker St. Look at the steaming Tim Sum... :D Really make us just want to end our dinner there.













We managed to find this shop that is famous for Chendol (a dessert with coconut milk and Gula Malaca, syrup make of coconut too), and Laksa.

Seth wakes up at the shop, and still look a little bit blurr blurr.









This is the Laksa we had! Penang style, Seafood, Chicken, Baba etc...... and all different style comes from different pots, and taste uniquely different too!

The green plates are what they call Goreng (deep fried). I was queuing up and someone in front of me ordered this goreng. I ask him what is goreng? He answered:" It's deep fried stuff, the sauce got the world gourmet award!" Don't need to think already, I ordered 2!

Family photo!

We seldom have all 3 of us taken photo together, either Jaz or myself are always the photographer. This time round, we have Jenny to be one.

We managed to comes home safely. And we thank God to be with us throughout the whole journey. Seth is very well behaved, no unnecessary tantrums. Lucky!

Medical Checkup

Seth is 6 months now, and he's medical checkup was due yesterday. He received his last vacination for the year. We usually will take a video for his injection, just to see and remember how long he cry. To our surprise, he smile...... it was really funny!

And we were telling his pediatrician, Dr Zubiar that Seth is suppose to be able to flip onto his back unaided. Dr Zubiar says its ok, some babies will actually skip this phase and just proceed onto sitting. When we reach home, while I was changing his diapers, he suddenly flip! Amazing right?

First Time To The Beach!

It was a very sunny day, so we decided to bring Seth to the beach...... It's he's first time to the beach. He was amaze by the sound of the waves, and breeze.

I guess it was a very relaxing atmosphere, that he fell asleep in my arms.

Training...

At Seth's 'age', he should be able to flip over on his own. But he didn't...... Therefore Jaz and I work out an idea, which is to put him on a training program.
Everyday we will flip him over and let him be in this position until he is tried.




Notice that watchful hand beside him, its my neighbour's Auntie Su, we call her Majik (Auntie in Malay), and Seth cal her Nak Nak (granny in Malay).

First Solid Food!

Ho Ho.... Seth's first time eating solid food. He didn't like it at all. We bought a banana flavoured baby food, which was sour in taste. No wonder he doesn't want to eat....
